Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. You will perform daily health checks, configure CloudWatch and Dynatrace monitoring, investigate incidents, and manage backups and logs within the LZ2 landing zone.

The role requires 5+ years in IT infrastructure with 3+ years of hands-on AWS ops, strong communication, and familiarity with TriZetto Facets is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, production support, or systems engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS operations experience preferred.
• Experience supporting production AWS workloads, monitoring tools, incident response processes, backup validation, and runbooks.
• Preferred AWS certifications: SysOps Admin, Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner.
• Familiarity with TriZetto Facets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks (disk space, agent status, EC2/RDS availability).
• Configure and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace, including dashboards and alarms.
• Investigate alerts for outages, performance issues, and anomalies.
• Configure CloudWatch alerts for on-call notifications.
• Manage EBS snapshots, sizing requests, and backup validation for EC2/RDS.
• Manage VPC Flow Logs, EC2 logs, S3 bucket access policies, and cross-account activities.
• Troubleshoot outages, DNS/private zones, firewall changes, and access issues.
• Support deployments by running approved runbooks and documenting steps.
• Monitor Subversion repos, maintain infra docs, and support TriZetto Facets installation.
