Job summary
Proofpoint is seeking an Area Vice President, Sales – Advanced Technology (AVP) to lead the global People Protection specialist organization within the Advanced Technologies Group. This role drives go-to-market strategy, coaches and develops leaders, and accelerates revenue growth across the Collaboration Protection portfolio.

Qualifications
- Proven leadership of large or distributed field sales teams.
- Experience selling in a matrixed organization.
- Security solutions knowledge and industry trends.
- Strong consultative selling and value articulation skills.
- Ability to build business plans, forecast, and generate pipeline.
- Experience in outbound sales discipline and proactive prospecting.
- Excellent communication across levels of customer and internal teams.
- Experience partnering with marketing to drive demand generation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor three Regional Directors and global specialist teams (~17 Sales Specialists).
- Scale a high-performing sales organization with expertise in Collaboration Protection solutions.
- Own and refine the global GTM strategy for Collaboration Protection.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Sales Engineering.
- Manage pipeline health, forecasting, and deal inspection rigor.
- Guide teams through structured sales processes and MEDDICC execution.
- Expand presence in existing accounts and develop net-new opportunities.
- Engage in major deals, participate in customer meetings, and help close strategic opportunities.
- Build strategic customer relationships and drive product adoption.
