Job summary

Proofpoint seeks an Area Vice President, Sales – Advanced Technology to lead a global specialist sales organization focused on Collaboration Protection. You will drive the GTM strategy, coach leaders, and accelerate revenue growth while enabling core sales leadership across regions.

You will own quota for Collaboration Protection products, engage in major deals, and partner with Marketing, Product, and Sales Engineering to accelerate adoption and customer success.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience leading field sales teams across large or distributed geographies.
• Matrix selling experience in a matrixed organization.
• Background selling security solutions with related technologies.
• Strong ability to articulate value and guide complex decisions.
• Forecasting, pipeline management, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive field engagement and actively support closing high‑value deals.
• Recruit, hire, train, and coach a high‑performing specialist sales team.
• Use metrics and analytics to guide decision‑making and execution.
• Define partner plans and collaborate with channel teams to expand revenue.
• Maintain rigorous deal inspection and accurate forecasting.
• Lead the sales discipline with territory and opportunity planning (MEDDICC).
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales Engineering, Marketing, and Support.
• Build strategic customer relationships and expand footprint in key accounts.
