Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an Area Vice President, Sales – Advanced Technology (AVP) to lead the global People Protection specialist organization within the Collaboration Protection portfolio. This high-visibility, customer-facing leadership role drives strategy, builds a world-class team, and accelerates revenue growth across regions.

You will oversee four global specialist sales teams, coach leaders, and align GTM plans with Core Sales, Marketing, Product, and Executives.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of field sales teams across large or distributed geographies.
• Experience selling security solutions with strong knowledge of security technologies.
• Strong ability to articulate value and guide complex decisions.
• Demonstrated capability to build pipelines and forecast accurately.
• Hands-on experience in outbound prospecting and demand generation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead three Regional Directors and global specialist teams to achieve revenue growth.
• Own and refine the global GTM strategy for Collaboration Protection.
• Drive field engagement, close strategic opportunities, and support major deals.
• Partner with Marketing, Product, and Sales Engineering to accelerate adoption.
• Mentor talent, manage pipeline health, and ensure accurate forecasting.
• Collaborate with Core Sales and Executive leadership on priorities.
