Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an experienced AV Planning Engineer to design and optimize planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles. You will work remotely with a global team, implementing real-time motion planning on vehicle platforms and collaborating with perception and control groups to integrate planning with sensor data and actuators.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering focused on robotics or autonomous systems, strong C++ skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on autonomous vehicles or robotics.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing planning algorithms like RRT, A*, and MPC.
• Proficiency in C++ and trajectory optimization for real-time systems.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced motion planning algorithms for complex urban navigation.
• Optimize vehicle trajectories using Model Predictive Control (MPC) to ensure comfort and safety.
• Develop software solutions that handle high-frequency real-time constraints in an on-vehicle environment.
• Collaborate with perception and control teams to integrate planning logic with sensor data and hardware actuators.
• Refine pathfinding behaviors to account for diverse road participants and edge-case traffic scenarios.
• Analyze flight or drive data to iterate on planner performance and decision-making logic.
