Job summary

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division is seeking a qualified engineer to join a global team delivering automation and control solutions for advanced generator systems. The role spans design, retrofit, and commissioning from concept to completion, with opportunities to lead cross-functional projects.

You will work independently and with dealers and factory teams to implement LV/MV paralleling control systems, convert legacy PLC programs, and develop HMI applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to produce wiring drawings.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and support field performance of projects.
• Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams.
• Submit project documentation, reports, and expenses on time.
• Train and support technicians, customers, and internal teams on maintenance and operation.
