Job summary

Join Caterpillar's Electric Power Division supporting the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. In this role, you will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, working both independently and collaboratively to execute retrofit and new system projects from concept through commissioning.

We seek hands-on experience with PLC/HMI development and collaboration with CAD teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation and controls design, programming, and testing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator control systems.
• Convert legacy PLCs and develop PLC/HMI applications.
• Collaborate with CAD for wiring and assembly drawings.
• Provide technical support to sales and product teams; document work.
• Train technicians and customers on maintenance and operation.
