Caterpillar is seeking an Electric Power Division professional to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear automation. You will deliver control solutions for complex power systems, executing retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

You will identify retrofit opportunities, define scope, program PLC/HMI, convert legacy systems, and collaborate with CAD for wiring drawings while supporting field performance and training teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation and controls, including PLCs and HMIs.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with one or more PLC brands (Modicon, Rockwell, Siemens, GE).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background checks.

Responsabilités

• Identify retrofit opportunities, define project scope and support proposals.
• Design, program, test, and commission low- and medium-voltage control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers for wiring/assembly drawings.
• Perform technical risk assessments and support field performance.
• Provide technical support to sales and product support teams.
• Submit project documentation, reports and expenses promptly.
• Train and support technicians, customers and internal teams.
