Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a driven engineer to support design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems within the Electric Power Division.
You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, leading retrofit and new projects from concept to commissioning. Responsibilities include design, programming, testing, and field support, with opportunities to train technicians and customers and to collaborate across Dealer, Factory, and Sales
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience with automation and controls; PLCs, HMIs, and DCS.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposals with Dealer and Factory teams.
- Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
- Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
- Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
- Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams.
