Job summary

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division is hiring to support the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, executing retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

You will work with cross-functional teams, program PLC/HMI applications, and provide field support while ensuring safety and reliability in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Experience with automation and controls including PLC-based systems and HMIs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background checks and medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with dealers and factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and develop PLC/HMI applications using templates.
• Produce wiring and assembly drawings with CAD designers.
• Provide technical support to sales and product support centers; train teams as needed.
