Job summary

United Automobile Insurance Company is seeking an Appraiser to join our Tampa/Lakeland remote team. The role involves inspecting and appraising auto and property damage, preparing repair estimates with Audatex, CCC One, Xactimate, and collaborating with adjusters and policyholders to resolve claims.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in P&C appraisal, holds Florida All-Lines Adjuster License or can obtain within 60 days, and is comfortable traveling within the Orlando area as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in property or auto damage appraisal, preferably in a P&C setting.
• Presentable and reliable vehicle for daily field work; mileage reimbursement provided.
• Florida All-Lines Adjuster License (or ability to obtain within 60 days) preferred.
• Proficient with estimating software such as CCC One, Audatex, Xactimate, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of Texas insurance and repair laws.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and appraise damaged auto or property, in-person or virtually.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates using Audatex, CCC One, Xactimate, or Mitchell.
• Determine repair versus total loss thresholds and advise next steps.
• Review photos/videos/documents submitted by claimants and shops.
• Collaborate with adjusters and policyholders to verify losses and resolve disputes.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records for claims handling and stay updated on laws.
