Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking a Sr. Analyst for Authorization Services Design & Configuration to architect medical management workflows in our UM platform.

You will translate complex requirements into automated logic and educate cross-functional partners on system configurations. You will be a systems thinker working remotely from Dallas, TX, reporting to the Associate Director, UM Optimization, with potential future hybrid options.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in system configuration or business rules management.
• 2+ years in a technical/operational role involving root-cause analysis and data troubleshooting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, pivot tables, data manipulation).
• Experience with end-to-end process impacts in complex technical environments.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical logic to non-technical partners.
• 1+ year working knowledge of healthcare payer/provider.

Responsibilities

• Manage the configuration and maintenance of authorization workflows, rulesets, and automations within the UM platform.
• Translate business requirements into precise technical specifications, ensuring rules and logic are implemented and tested.
• Investigate escalations with root-cause analysis on system behavior and configuration gaps.
• Identify friction points in the authorization process and document opportunities for workflow improvement and automation.
• Be the subject-matter expert for the UM system, educating cross-functional teams on configuration impacts.
• Develop testing protocols and test scenarios to validate system behavior and lead corrective activities as needed.
• Manage caseloads and project tasks through dashboards and prioritization.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all business rules, specs, and workflow designs.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
