Job summary

Sourcebooks is seeking a detail-oriented Production Associate to support audiobook production from pre-production through final delivery, collaborating with the Director of Audio Production, editors, studios, narrators, and partners to keep materials and schedules on track.

You will gain hands-on experience across casting, manuscript preparation, recording support, QC, and final delivery, with a hybrid/remote role in New York, Naperville, or remote across listed states.

Qualifications

• Degree in audio, publishing, communications, media production, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, assets, and details without losing sight of priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and outside partners.
• Comfort learning production systems, databases, trackers, and vendor platforms.
• Judgment to identify missing information and escalate issues.
• Experience in publishing, audio production, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support audiobook production from pre-production through final delivery, ensuring materials and schedules are organized, accurate, and delivered on time.
• Assist with casting and manuscript prep by organizing materials and preparing production documents.
• Maintain/update internal production systems, trackers, databases, drives, and partner platforms.
• Create and manage pronunciation materials, coordinating with editors, studios, narrators, and partners.
• Support delivery workflows by confirming materials are complete and properly formatted.
• Review QC notes and support quality-control workflows, tracking reports and issues.
• Coordinate follow-up across the audio team and partners to resolve missing materials and changes.
