Defense Unicorns is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our UDS Product Engineering team. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and end users to help build the right solutions and deliver them well in mission-critical environments.

You’ll grow at the intersection of product development and technical execution, contributing to design, implementation, testing, and deployment of well-scoped features with guidance from experienced engineers. Remote - USA.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of Go or another modern language.
• Foundational understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience contributing to open source projects a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver well-tested, maintainable code for clearly scoped features.
• Take ownership of small to medium tasks from implementation through release.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to translate requirements into working software.
• Debug issues and improve reliability in production.
• Participate in production support and on-call practices with guidance.
