Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer/Designer focused on electric utility design engineering. You will develop design and construction work packages, perform essential calculations, and support construction to ensure adherence to standards and quality.

The role offers a blend of field and office work, with some travel and remote-capable options within a Pittsburgh-area preference. Strong communication and GIS/AutoCAD/MicroStation skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience with NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and GIS a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to utilize a personal vehicle with some travel.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work; field data collection for packages.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying, conductor sag/tension, voltage drop, and flicker.
