Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to design electrical distribution systems and work closely with clients to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role blends field and office duties, including project scoping, data collection, and engineering analyses.

You will work with NESC standards, GIS, and CAD tools, coordinating with utilities in complex urban environments while traveling as needed within the service area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred.
• Experience with NESC, ESRI, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and GIS is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to use a personal vehicle; some travel expected (IRS rates).
• Willingness to perform field and office work; outdoor environments occasionally; customer-site data collection.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations for pole loading, guying, spans, voltage drop, and flicker.
