Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking an Associate Director of Pharmacy Hub Operations to build, launch, and lead the hub operating model across patient access and clinical services.

You will oversee intake, verification, prior authorization, appeals, patient assistance, and initial clinical service capabilities during launch. The role requires hands-on launch leadership, scalable team-building, and disciplined performance management in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, or a related clinical field; advanced clinical/business degree preferred.
• Active pharmacist or registered nurse license in good standing.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience in complex healthcare operations.
• Experience with benefits verification, prior authorization, appeals, patient assistance, enrollment, or reimbursement support workflows.
• Experience in specialty pharmacy, manufacturer hub services, patient support programs, or complex medication programs.
• Experience launching or transforming an operational function, client program, pharmacy service, or workflow.
• Strong operational acumen in workforce planning, queue management, service-level performance, quality, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and risk escalation.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence in a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Build launch operating model across Access Operations and initial Clinical Operations with team structure, workflows, and governance.
• Establish integrated launch workflows across specialists, pharmacists, nurses, and technicians with clear boundaries and handoffs.
• Partner with Implementation on requirements, validation, training readiness, cutover, go-live, and hypercare; assume accountability after acceptance.
• Translate requirements, clinical protocols, SLAs, and regulatory obligations into executable practices.
• Establish staffing, licensing/credentialing, onboarding, and contingency plans for launch.
• Lead intake/enrollment, benefits verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient assistance navigation.
• Own service-level attainment, turnaround time, backlog, and end-to-end access outcomes; manage daily routines and capacity.
• Provide clinical oversight for review, education, adherence support, and patient safety during launch.
• Ensure licensure, credentialing, supervision, documentation, and scope-of-practice controls for all clinical activities.
• Support future-state design and leadership transition as the organization grows.
