Job summary

Merck's U.S. Oncology business seeks an Associate Director, Patient Support Program Strategy to define the vision and governance for the PSP and to align hub services, enrollment, affordability, and case management with patient access needs.

You will partner with Market Access, Legal, Privacy, and external vendors to translate strategy into scalable programs, from benefits investigation to prior authorization and data strategy, ensuring a patient-centered experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare organizations.
  • Experience designing and optimizing patient support programs, hub services, affordability solutions, or patient access capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of patient support, payer dynamics, buy-and-bill reimbursement, and enrollment requirements.
  • Experience developing enrollment, consent, and data strategies involving PHI and complex data management.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to navigate ambiguity and execute initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve PSP strategy, service model, and capabilities including benefits investigation, case management, prior authorization support, affordability services, and patient support workflows.
  • Design patient enrollment and multi-consent processes that support participation in patient services programs and data collection.
  • Define brand-specific hub governance, workflows, service requirements, and escalation pathways.
  • Develop and oversee affordability strategy, copay program structures, and financial assistance solutions.
  • Partner with Patient Access Support Center of Excellence and vendors to translate strategy into operational execution.
  • Support vendor selection and oversee hub and affordability partner performance, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance measures and reporting requirements to identify barriers and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant implementation and launch readiness.
