Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory is seeking an Associate Director, Continuous Improvement to set the multi-year Lean strategy for JMCRS Operations and lead a team of CI Specialists across US sites. Up to 50% travel may be required to work with the team, with remote governance over on-site production teams in Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, Sacramento, Gainesville.

Ideal candidates will have a strong Lean background, 10+ years of relevant experience, and a track record of leading enterprise-wide improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field is required; Master's degree preferred.
• 10 years of relevant experience required; 12+ years preferred.
• 6 years of supervisory experience required; 8+ years preferred.
• Extensive experience in operational excellence and process improvement across complex orgs.
• Strong knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies with track record of leading events.

Responsibilities

• Develop operational excellence team members and drive continuous improvement of the CI program.
• Coach team on Kaizen and core Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Daily Management, Problem Solving).
• Manage the Kaizen funnel and sustainment bowler for institutionalized improvements.
• Lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost performance.
• Partner with JMCRS Ops managers to define scope, goals, timelines, and project plans.
• Provide leadership and development for a distributed team supporting domestic US operations.
• Model change management practices for OE initiatives across sites.
• Prepare analyses, flow charts, and reports; deliver status updates to leadership.
• Collaborate to collect and organize data to evaluate processes.
