Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a seasoned Associate Director of Benefits & Payroll to lead design and administration of health, welfare, retirement, and well-being programs across the firm. You will oversee payroll governance, audits, and vendor management while collaborating with Finance and human resources to advance Total Rewards strategies.

The role requires extensive knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and multi-state payroll.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field; CEBS/CPP/SHRM-SCP or similar certification preferred.
• Eight to ten years’ experience in benefits, payroll and/or Total Rewards, in a large organization or professional services.
• Experience leading teams; strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA; proficient with HR technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and ongoing management of health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs.
• Direct and participate in audits and compliance reviews; oversee vendor relationships and RFPs.
• Provide operational leadership for payroll, multi-state processing, and well-being initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, People & Culture, and external partners to align Total Rewards strategies.
• Develop communications and educational resources for employees on benefits and retirement programs.
