Job summary

Ashford Connex, LLC is seeking an Associate Attorney / Of Counsel to join its Employment Litigation Practice Group as a remote attorney handling sophisticated employment matters for employers nationwide. This role offers significant responsibility, client interaction, and collaboration with a respected team of labor and employment lawyers.

Candidates should have a JD from a top-tier law school, active California bar, and 4 years of California employment litigation experience.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4 years of substantive California employment litigation experience (Associate level).
• Of Counsel candidates should have 9 years of relevant California employment litigation experience and first-chair capabilities.
• Experience defending employers in employment litigation including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour, and related workplace claims.
• Experience representing employers in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative matters.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and procedures.
• Ability to independently manage litigation from inception through resolution.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Represent employers before state and federal administrative agencies.
• Advise and counsel employers on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour disputes, and related claims.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to provide strategic, business-focused counsel.
