Job summary

Our client, a nationally recognized management-side labor and employment law firm, seeks an Associate Attorney / Of Counsel to join its Employment Litigation Practice Group. This remote role handles sophisticated employment matters for employers across industries with significant responsibility and client interaction.

Requirements include a CA Bar admission in good standing, a top-tier JD, 4 years of CA employment litigation experience (9 years for Of Counsel), and strong advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4 years of substantive California employment litigation experience.
• Of Counsel: 9 years of relevant California employment litigation experience and first-chair capabilities.
• Experience defending employers in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims.
• Experience representing employers in court, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative matters.
• Class Action and/or PAGA experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and procedures.
• Ability to manage litigation from inception through resolution independently.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Attention to detail and client service excellence.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork.
• Prior large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters and agency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of litigation including strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep.
• Represent employers before state and federal agencies.
• Advise on employment law compliance and workplace issues.
• Conduct management training on employment and labor law topics.
• Handle discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-hour disputes, and related claims.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to provide strategic legal counsel.
