Job summary

Makeshift Software Inc in Columbus, OH is seeking an Associate Animator to support gameplay animation and prerendered cinematics for Hexborn, working closely with senior animators to learn our pipeline and grow into ownership of shots.

You will clean up motion capture data, animate on Blender rigs (biped and creature), and contribute to our rigging standards while aligning with a mentorship-driven production pipeline and a remote-to-hybrid transition.

Qualifications

• Experience with Blender animation (professional or portfolio level).
• Familiarity with motion capture cleanup workflows.
• Basic experience animating on bipeds and/or creature rigs.
• Strong demo reel showing animation fundamentals like weight and timing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with animating gameplay moments and prerendered cutscenes in Blender, under senior animators' guidance.
• Support motion capture cleanup and production-ready animation workflows.
• Animate on both bipeds and creature rigs using established rigs and libraries.
• Follow and help maintain rigging and animation standards across the team.
• Collaborate with senior animators to build toward greater independence and shot ownership.
• Work within our animation tooling and workflow systems.
