Job summary

MEDTEAM, a division of Harris, seeks an Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead billing, collections, AR, coding and denial activities for client organizations. This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in the US, with travel up to 25% and preference for EST/CST time zones.

The role partners with leadership to drive process improvements, ensure compliance, and achieve operational and financial goals across client organizations in healthcare revenue cycle services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years in healthcare revenue cycle services in a hospital environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role and knowledge of multiple EHRs (MEDHOST, Oracle/Cerner, Meditech or EPIC revenue cycle software).
• Proven client relationship skills.
• Experience with multi-facility entities to rural health/community hospitals.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Understanding of hospital operations and clinical/financial processes.
• Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, clients, partners, and Hospital Executives while leading projects.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and professionalism under pressure.
• Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop frontline managers across revenue cycle functions.
• Oversee day-to-day operations to meet performance and service levels.
• Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate and timely execution of billing, cash posting, collections, AR follow-up and denial management.
• Monitor workflow and adjust resources to client needs.
• Escalate operational risks to senior leadership.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement standard workflows and best practices.
• Support automation and AI-driven optimization initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with client contacts and operational leaders.
• Provide updates in routine client meetings and communicate performance.
• Track KPIs, productivity metrics and financial outcomes; prepare dashboards.
• Ensure CMS, payer rule compliance and quality assurance programs.
• Assist in budgeting, staffing and expense management; forecast revenue cycle performance.
• Collaborate on system optimizations with internal teams and vendors; improve functionality.
• Support onboarding, training and ongoing development for staff.
• Provide operational input for sales discussions and proposals.
