Job summary

Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services is seeking an Assistant Director of Human Resources to lead the Talent Acquisition Branch and Executive Resources Branch within the Office of Inspector General's OMP HR Division. The role directs operations, oversees complex projects, and coordinates across agencies to ensure compliant HR practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide full technical and administrative oversight of the Talent Acquisition Branch and Executive Resources Branch, directing, coordinating, and evaluating all branch operations.
• Oversee projects that strengthen oversight, internal compliance, and operational effectiveness across HR functions.
• Collaborate with agency management officials across OIG/OMP, HHS components, and other Federal agencies to initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Make or approve selections for subordinate non-supervisory positions and interview candidates for appointments, promotions, or reassignments.
• Review and recommend disciplinary actions, and recommend awards or classification changes for non-supervisory staff.
• Administer recruitment and placement programs, issue vacancy announcements, determine qualifications, coordinate evaluation panels, and process personnel actions.
• Develop and manage SES performance management and executive resources programs, including SES staffing, pay administration, ERB oversight, and required OPM reporting.
