The University of Tampa is seeking an Assistant Director, Financial Aid Operations to lead reconciliation, award state aid, and ensure accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment. The role reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing federal/state aid processes, preparing state reports, and ensuring campus-based aid is fully allocated. The position allows remote work after probation with occasional on-campus attendance for meetings and

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of related experience or combination of education and work experience.
• Strong technical proficiency with automated financial aid systems; Workday preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations (Title IV) preferred.
• Experience with or ability to quickly learn University software and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to embrace new technologies and practices.
• Accounting experience helpful.
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Some travel, valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
• Evenings/weekends and occasional overnight travel may be needed.

Responsabilidades

• Perform monthly reconciliation for federal and state aid programs, including returning funds to sources.
• Complete alternative loan reconciliations and process returns.
• Ensure accuracy and resolve rejects on federal grant and loan records.
• Oversee awarding of all state aid programs.
• Prepare and submit required state reports by deadlines (e.g., DER, SFA Report).
• Ensure full allocation of campus-based aid programs is spent.
• Write and maintain reports for the financial aid office.
• Award and review eligibility for ROTC Living Expenses grants.
• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive work environment.
• Work remotely after probation with occasional on-campus attendance for meetings/training.
