Job summary

twiceasnice Recruiting presents a remote Assistant Controller opportunity for an outsourced accounting and advisory practice. Ideal candidates live in the ET or CT time zones and will manage multi-client engagements with hands-on accounting, close processes, and frequent client interaction.

The role offers a base salary of $85,000–$90,000, full-time hours, and a benefits package including medical, dental, disability, life, 401(k) with Safe Harbor, PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements required.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of clients, including hands-on full-cycle accounting
• Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for clients
• Review account activity and investigate variances and discrepancies
• Analyze financial results and identify trends and opportunities
• Serve as a primary accounting contact for assigned clients
• Present financial results and explain key findings to clients
• Review Staff Accountant work and provide guidance as needed
• Perform hands-on accounting work based on client needs
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls
