Job summary

Peek is seeking a highly talented accounting leader to oversee monthly and quarterly close, mentor the team, and strengthen controls across the organization.

You will work with the Controller on financial reporting, policy, and audit readiness, own technical accounting research, and drive process improvements. This remote-first role collaborates with all departments on cross-functional projects and requires 5-7 years of relevant experience, including public accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced degree or CPA certification.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience at a public accounting firm.
• Proficiency in researching technical accounting matters and preparing memorandums.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, including software development and ASC 606.
• Experience in process optimization, simplification, and standardization.
• Familiarity with ERP solutions and financial systems; experience with NetSuite preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective leadership and personnel management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process and serve as one of the primary liaisons with external auditors.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, elevating close ownership across staff and senior accountants while stepping in on complex areas.
• Evaluate, develop, and strengthen department controls, systems, and procedures in support of a scalable control environment.
• Own technical accounting research and documentation, resolving complex business and technical issues and preparing supporting memorandums.
• Partner with the Controller on financial reporting, audit readiness, and accounting policy across all entities.
• Implement technology and process improvements to support new business initiatives and a faster, cleaner financial close.
• Lead projects that contribute significantly to close efficiency and financial system optimization.
• Manage and monitor all accounting systems used by the organization, including NetSuite.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting policies and regulatory standards.
• Hire, train, motivate, and develop team members while supervising and delegating department work.
