Job summary

Consor Engineers is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and to ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will supervise accounting staff, enhance internal controls, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements across finance operations.

The role offers fully remote work for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone, with opportunities to partner with FP&A, operations, and project accounting to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public or corporate accounting.
• Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint and BlackLine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by accounting staff.
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with the Controller to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and close procedures.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
• Coordinate the preparation of audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and assist in managing external audit activities.
