Job summary

Veracity Insurance is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our fully remote team in the United States. You will own carrier reporting and bordereaux reconciliation, and partner with Data, Finance, Product, and Program to resolve discrepancies while improving workflows with automation.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, and CPA progress. Interviewers emphasize accuracy, controls, and cross‑functional collaboration across finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including GL accounting, reconciliations, AP, and reporting.
• Month-end close experience and insurance industry exposure required.
• CPA license or active progress toward CPA required.

Responsibilities

• Own carrier reporting and bordereaux reconciliation for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with Data, Finance, Product, and Program to resolve discrepancies.
• Lead improvements in workflows using technology, automation, and AI.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Review and approve AP invoices, expense reports, and payment requests per policy.
• Manage Ramp payments platform, user access, and workflow enforcement.
• Monitor banking activity; assist ACH, wires, and positive pay approvals.
• Maintain general ledger and supporting documentation; post journal entries.
• Support audits with schedules and documentation; strengthen internal controls.
