Job summary

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is seeking a seasoned Asset Protection leader to oversee 20-30 stores from a remote/hybrid setting, with travel as needed across the district. You’ll drive shrink reduction, audits, and team performance.

You will build partnerships with store management and District Managers, recruit and train AP staff, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining exceptional store operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in Asset Protection, including supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English and local language where appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams remotely.
• Confident public speaking and ability to train others.
• Able to build strong business partnerships.
• Able to evaluate situations and make timely decisions per company guidelines.
• Willingness to work nights, evenings, and weekends as required by retail.
• Must pass a comprehensive background investigation.
• Wicklander–Zulawski interviewing training required.
• Working knowledge of asset protection resources (case management systems, POS exception reporting, auditing tools and data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Execute Asset Protection initiatives in assigned district (20-30 stores) and implement shortage reduction programs in high shrink locations.
• Partner with local store management and District Managers to meet strategic asset protection objectives.
• Manage Focus Store program to ensure store compliance and address sub-standard performers.
• Manage AP audit and training program in assigned stores.
• Conduct operational audits focusing on sales floor fullness, stockroom organization, health and safety, HR compliance, and customer service.
• Optimize inventory accuracy through physical inventories, store transfer monitoring, and OMNI compliance.
• Facilitate supply chain investigations to impact inbound carton loss and carton compliance.
• Recruit, hire, and train AP Agents and Investigators; ensure direct reports are compliant.
• Provide training on shoplifting apprehension policies and procedures.
• Participate in blitzes with ORC and AP team members; may require overnight travel.
• Lead store associate training on AP procedures and workshops.
• Participate in conference calls and in-store engagement to ensure compliance.
• Perform routine store operation assessments and safety compliance checks.
• Provide clear safety communication and crisis management guidance to staff.
• Monitor controls and investigate associate dishonesty; conduct inventory, cash loss, and policy violation investigations.
• Initiate and support Organized Retail Crime investigations with Zone ORC Investigator and local law enforcement partners.
• Complete special projects as assigned by the Regional Manager of Asset Protection.
