Job summary

Cognizant is hiring an AS400 Technical Lead to own end-to-end delivery across AS400 environments including COBOL, RPG, and CL. You will lead onshore and offshore teams, coordinate with client SMEs, and ensure delivery quality and governance.

The role is remote within the United States with an emphasis on delivery leadership, stakeholder engagement, and proactive risk management. Strong communication is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 9 years of IT experience with AS400 applications.
• Hands-on experience with AS400 environments.
• Strong programming with RPG and COBOL/400.
• Experience with CLLE.
• Experience with SQLRPGLE.
• Experience with DB2/400.
• Experience leading technical delivery and cross-functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery and hands-on coding across AS400, COBOL, RPG, and CL environments.
• Lead cross-functional technical teams across onshore and offshore delivery models.
• Act as the primary stakeholder interface with client SMEs, resolving dependencies and securing sign-offs on extracted business rules.
• Provide executive status reporting including progress, risks, financials, and mitigation plans.
