Archive Owl is seeking an exceptionally curious individual to shape its visual language and drawing standards. You will work with our founder and architectural team to explore new methods of recording and preserving buildings in a remote, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level education in architecture, architectural history, historic preservation, or a related discipline preferred.
• Strong appreciation for architectural drawing conventions, graphic composition, and visual communication.
• Exceptional attention to detail, independent thinking, and research abilities.
• Familiarity with architectural design and documentation software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong interest in emerging technologies and their applications to architecture and the built environment.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work collaboratively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Research exemplary architectural drawings, historical documentation, and representation methods.
• Help establish and refine Archive Owl's drawing standards, graphic language, and presentation methodologies.
• Evaluate architectural documentation for visual clarity, accuracy, and quality.
• Explore reality capture, scan-to-BIM, AI, computational design, and digital archiving.
• Research architectural histories, original drawings, and property records for archival work.
• Collaborate with production and technology teams to improve workflows and deliverables.
• Develop new ideas, tools, and processes to advance recording and understanding of buildings.
