Job summary

AECOM is seeking multiple Archaeology Technicians for immediate employment within our Cultural Resources team in the Midwest. This is a remote, part-time, on-call position, meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The Archaeological Technician primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Immediate field projects will be in Ohio and Illinois, with overnight travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate.
  • 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.
  • Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification are required.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
  • May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
  • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
