Job summary

VA Claims Insider, LLC is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to be the primary contact for payments. This 1099 contract role is 100% remote with duties centering on past-due invoices and refunds processing in QuickBooks and payment gateways.

You will negotiate payments, log promises, and ensure accurate refunds while maintaining client goodwill. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in outbound collections and basic bookkeeping, with strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

2+ years in outbound collections, call center workflows, and basic bookkeeping or transactional processing (refunds/credits).
Proficiency looking up account histories in QuickBooks Online and executing transactions via merchant gateways (Stripe, PayPal, or QuickBooks Payments).
Exceptional phone etiquette and active listening; comfortable asking for money in difficult conversations while staying calm and professional.
High accuracy in entering numbers, matching refund amounts to receipts, and documenting financial adjustments.

Responsibilities

Outbound Payment Campaigns: conduct daily loops to clients with past-due invoices and outstanding balances.
Payment Negotiation & Capture: overcome objections and securely process payments to resolve delinquent accounts.
End-to-End Refund Management: review, validate, and process refunds inside QuickBooks and gateways.
Dispute & Short-Payment Resolution: investigate issues, issue credits/refunds to close the loop.
Detailed Communication Logging: maintain real-time records of promises, reasons, and justifications.
