Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to drive vulnerability management across development lifecycles in a remote role based in one of 23 US states, including FL. The role emphasizes hands-on code review in a JVM/Clojure stack and active participation in cloud security operations, risk assessments, and compliance support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering and/or cybersecurity experience
• Hands-on working within the JVM environment and able to read functional code
• Hands-on experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response
• Ability to design security frameworks by analyzing root causes in dynamic environments
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+; CISSP is a major plus

Responsibilities

• Secure the Code (Primary): Partner with development teams to champion application security vulnerability management and triage vulnerabilities
• Security Ops: Configure, fine-tune, and monitor our cloud security posture to detect and respond to threats in real time
• Champion Governance & Risk: Conduct security reviews and risk assessments on internal architecture, vendors, and APIs
• Protect the Workspace: Manage IAM, device compliance, and secure productivity tools across the day-to-day workspace
• Drive Technical Excellence: Mentor engineers on secure coding, establish secure defaults, and scale security practices across teams
