Job summary

Ladder is hiring a remote Applications Security Engineer in the United States (GA included) to lead vulnerability management within development lifecycles. The role requires hands-on JVM work, cloud security operations, and collaboration with engineering teams to implement secure coding practices.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in security or software engineering, cloud security experience, and relevant certifications; CISSP preferred.

Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering and/or cybersecurity experience.
Hands-on working within the JVM environment; reading functional code and collaborating with backend engineers.
Hands-on experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
Ability to operate in dynamic environments and design scalable security frameworks.
Baseline certifications such as CompTIA Security+; CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure the code by partnering with development teams to manage application security vulnerabilities.
Configure, monitor, and optimize cloud security posture using SIEM/SOAR tools.
Conduct security reviews and risk assessments on architecture, vendors, and APIs.
Maintain workspace security including identity access management and device compliance.
Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and secure defaults.
