Job summary

Ladder is seeking an Applications Security Engineer to own the vulnerability management lifecycle within a fast‑growing environment. You will work closely with development teams in a heavy JVM/Clojure ecosystem to improve secure coding and shift-left practices.

You will also monitor cloud security, respond to incidents, and support audits across engineering and product squads. Remote role with nationwide eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering and/or cybersecurity.
• Hands-on JVM environment experience and reading functional code.
• Experience securing modern cloud infrastructures and incident response.
• Certified Professional such as Security+; CISSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure application security vulnerability management with development teams.
• Configure and monitor cloud security posture using SIEM/SOAR/CSP/CNAPP.
• Conduct security risk reviews for internal architecture and third parties.
• Maintain identity access management and device compliance.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and secure defaults.
• Drive security governance and risk across teams and audits.
