Job summary

RTX seeks an Application Engineer - DevOps & Engineering Tools for a remote role supporting enterprise-wide SWCM and DevSecOps apps. You will deploy, administer, and optimize containerized software across classified and unclassified environments, migrating legacy tech to cloud-based Git-centric solutions.

The position requires strong Linux admin skills, Docker/Podman, and automation experience with Bash/Python/Perl. Occasional travel to on-site locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience deploying server-based hosted COTS apps on‑prem and cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Hands-on with Docker and/or Podman; scripting in Bash/Python/Perl.
• Knowledge of security, SSL, certificates, REST, and cloud CI/CD tooling.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, sustain, and support enterprise software on‑prem and in cloud using DevSecOps.
• Develop deployment automation, container orchestration scripts, and IaC templates.
• Configure and maintain cybersecurity and compliance posture of hosted solutions.
• Support pipelines, optimize builds and tests, and assist with incident resolution.
• Plan migrations from legacy systems to container-based, cloud-hosted platforms.
• Develop enterprise solution architectures and present metrics to leadership.
• Collaborate with programs and stakeholders to align deployments.
• Implement monitoring scripts and tools to maximize uptime.
