Zusammenfassung

RTX seeks an experienced Application Engineer specializing in DevOps & Engineering Tools. You will deploy, administer, and support enterprise-wide COTS software engineering and DevSecOps apps, leveraging containerized solutions to optimize deployments across classified and unclassified environments.

You will join a diverse, regionally distributed team supporting Core SWCM and build capabilities, driving software modernization and cloud adoption by migrating legacy tech to container-based,

Qualifikationen

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Strong Linux system administration experience.
Experience deploying and managing server-based hosted COTS applications in an enterprise environment using on-prem and Cloud (AWS, Azure) infrastructure services (applications such as Jira, GITLAB, Jenkins, etc)
Hands‑on experience using Docker and/or Podman
Ability to develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, and/or PERL
Troubleshooting network and Web/HTTP concepts (SSL, certificates, proxy, REST) to resolve application configuration issues
Strong communication, organizational, and people skills with the ability to multi‑task, support multiple customers, and to work within specific schedule and cost constraints.
Experience deploying or administering Jira, GitLab, and/or Azure DevOps Server.
Ability to troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines/code in Jenkins, Azure, or GitLab.
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu, or similar technologies.
Experience using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud tenants (AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery, data spill remediation, FIPS compliance, SSL/TLS, and SELinux.
Windows system administration experience and experience administering Java-based applications.
Strong understanding and implementation experience with SCRUM, Lean, Agile, or Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks.

Aufgaben

Application Lifecycle: Deploy, sustain, and support enterprise shared software applications on-premise and in cloud environments using DevSecOps principles
Automation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain software deployment automation, container orchestration scripts, and infrastructure-as-code templates
Security & Compliance: Configure, harden, and maintain the cybersecurity and compliance posture of all hosted solutions
Pipeline Support: Assist engineering teams with the support, optimization, and integration of software build/test pipelines
Incident Resolution: Resolve application service incidents and collaborate with Level-1 helpdesk teams to develop internal knowledge base articles
Legacy Migration: Partner with engineering stakeholders to plan and execute migrations off legacy systems to modern platforms
Architecture & Leadership: Develop enterprise-based solution architectures and present performance metrics and demonstrations to leadership
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with programs and stakeholder groups to align and support application deployments
Monitoring & Operations: Implement and maintain service monitoring scripts and tools to streamline operations and maximize uptime
