Job summary

RTX is seeking an Applications Engineer for DevOps & Engineering Tools to deploy, administer, and support enterprise software across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will drive modernization by containerizing solutions, enabling Git-based workflows, and supporting both classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Experience deploying and managing server-based hosted COTS applications in an enterprise environment using on-prem and Cloud (AWS, Azure) infrastructure services (applications such as Jira, GITLAB, Jenkins, etc)
• Hands-on experience using Docker and/or Podman
• Ability to develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, and/or PERL
• Troubleshooting network and Web/HTTP concepts (SSL, certificates, proxy, REST) to resolve application configuration issues
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, sustain, and support enterprise shared software applications on-premise and in cloud environments using DevSecOps principles
• Develop and maintain software deployment automation, container orchestration scripts, and infrastructure-as-code templates
• Configure, harden, and maintain the cybersecurity and compliance posture of all hosted solutions
• Assist engineering teams with the support, optimization, and integration of software build/test pipelines
• Resolve application service incidents and collaborate with Level-1 helpdesk teams to develop internal knowledge base articles
• Partner with engineering stakeholders to plan and execute migrations off legacy systems to modern platforms
• Develop enterprise-based solution architectures and present performance metrics and demonstrations to leadership
• Partner with programs and stakeholder groups to align and support application deployments
• Implement and maintain service monitoring scripts and tools to streamline operations and maximize uptime
