Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an Appian Business Analyst to partner with Appian product teams and potentially engage customers to generate requirements for Appian applications. The role supports MVP definition, requirements discovery, data modeling, and process design across BPM applications.

You will collaborate with product managers and technology stakeholders, write user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and help prioritize features within the roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication at all levels of an organization (written and verbal).
• Detail oriented with experience working on several products at one time.
• Experience with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• This position is remote with ability to work east coast hours as needed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed. US citizenship required for clearance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Define MVP for a given application/product with Product Dev Managers and supporting release plans.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process analysis, and BPM modeling.
• Lead discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect solution requirements.
• Collaborate with product and technology stakeholders to define enhancements.
• Support prioritization of features within the product roadmap.
• Deliver user engagement analytics and support case studies.
• Write user stories with acceptance criteria for developers and QA.
• Work with teams to answer questions and guide work items and stories.
• Collaborate on sprint planning based on the product vision and roadmap.
• Refine requirements from engagements, demos, and feedback.
• Prepare estimates for backlog items and conduct reviews/acceptance.
