Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Irving, TX is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide a high level of customer service by resolving exceptions and escalations in the AP department, with remote/work from home opportunity and occasional on-site training.

You will handle data entry of vendor invoices, process PO and non-PO invoices, perform reconciliations, and ensure timely follow-up on emails and calls. This role emphasizes accuracy, SLA adherence, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting practices.
• Experience with accounting software or ERPs; SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely data entry of vendor invoices and credits.
• Process PO and Non-PO invoices.
• Perform statement reconciliations and open receiver resolution as applicable.
• Perform PO exception reconciliation as applicable.
• Ensure customer emails/calls are followed up in a timely manner.
• Meet and maintain department SLA for processing volume and quality.
