Qualifications

• CPC (AAPC) or CCS-P certifications required.
• Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in pain management.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and payer policies; coding compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes to professional billing encounters based on documentation and coding guidelines.
• Codes moderately complex cases including multiple diagnoses or comorbidities.
• Reviews work queues in coding and revenue cycle systems and resolves routine discrepancies.
• Collaborates with providers and staff to clarify documentation for accurate coding and billing.
• Adheres to federal, state, payer, and organizational coding guidelines and quality standards.
