Job summary

Clarus is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join the Analytics team. You will own the analytics engineering process, bridging Data Engineering and Analytics delivery, and build scalable analytics architecture using dbt, SQL, Python, and Databricks.

You will transform raw data into analytics-ready models, establish governance, and mentor the team while supporting multiple projects. This role is remote in the US with potential travel and a yearly bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, data engineering, analytics, information systems, mathematics, or a related discipline.
• A strong record of success leading analytics engineering, data engineering, BI engineering, or related initiatives.
• Experience in animal health, veterinary services, pet insurance, SaaS, fintech, or health tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering work, including roadmap, priorities, standards, and operating practices.
• Design and evolve analytics architecture across bronze, silver, and gold layers.
• Build and optimize dbt models transforming data into analytics-ready datasets.
• Write and optimize SQL, and use Python for data transformation and automation.
• Develop dimensional data models supporting dashboards and self-service analytics.
• Establish KPI definitions, data contracts, and data governance.
• Implement automated tests, lineage, and monitoring for data quality.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on ingestion and platform performance.
• Partner with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Improve Databricks performance and cost efficiency.
• Lead data-quality investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Create technical documentation and enablement materials.
