Job summary

Ferguson seeks an AMI/AMR Project Manager to lead municipality water meter projects, oversee subcontractors, and coordinate on-site client visits as needed. This remote role supports customers in the Southwest market with up to 50% travel for client site visits; ideal candidates live in Southern California or nearby states.

The majority of work is handled virtually, with emphasis on project scope, budget, schedules and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in project management
• 5+ years Industry and product knowledge
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Lead and empower teams
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
• Advanced knowledge in Excel preferred
• PMP certification preferred
• MBA or Engineering degree preferred
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work without daily oversight

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a project from start to finish within time and budget
• Recommend products and services aligning with client needs
• Execute projects per PM methodology and plan
• Maintain sales relationships with major accounts
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and satisfaction
• Supervise progress and resolve operational issues
• Define project scope, specifications and requirements with clients
• Lead project meetings and report status to stakeholders
• Allocate resources to meet targets
• Support PMs to ensure projects stay on plan
