Job summary

EY seeks an experienced AI-enabled product engineer to turn ambitious AI concepts into durable, user-centered products. You’ll work near users, product decisions, and production code, turning demos into scalable services across the full stack.

The role emphasizes rapid testing, ownership of complete product slices, and responsible use, with 50% travel and hybrid office options at EY Challenger.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• End-to-end delivery: take software from concept to launch, learning and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud tech.
• Applied AI experience with large language models, retrieval, tools, or similar patterns.
• Evaluation experience with automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems.
• Live-service ownership including telemetry, debugging, reliability, and incident response.
• User-centered practice collaborating with users, designers, and product leaders.
• Engineering craft with clear specifications, maintainable code, and sound trade-offs.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid on-site/flexible office availability.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and work with domain experts to understand workflows and identify AI value.
• Test assumptions quickly with concise specs, prototypes, and small releases to gather evidence.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior through instructions, context, retrieval, and tool use with evidence-based tuning.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Connect outcomes to behavior by instrumenting user journeys and monitoring metrics.
• Engineer for responsible use with clear permissions, data handling, checkpoints, and rollback.
• Own production quality with incremental releases, live monitoring, and recovery.
