Job summary

Samsara Inc. is seeking an experienced AI/ML engineer to join the AI Transformation team within Operations.

You will design and deploy ML models for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supplier risk scoring, with a focus on scalable MLOps and real-time inference. You will collaborate with Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Finance, Sales, and hardware/firmware teams to drive data-driven decisions across global supply chains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in applied data science or ML, ideally in supply chain, operations research, logistics, or manufacturing
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, EE, OR, or related field

Responsibilities

• Define the end-to-end AI transformation roadmap for supply chain alongside leadership
• Design, train, validate, and deploy ML models to production with strong MLOps
• Build predictive models to forecast demand, inventory, lead times, and spend
• Create novel features from ERP, IoT, and external data sources
• Deliver production-grade code supporting batch and real-time inference
• Mentor junior scientists and drive cross-functional adoption of data-driven solutions
• Establish governance, documentation, and quality controls for model lifecycle
