Job summary

Samsara is building an AI/ML capability within its Operations team and seeks a senior AI/ML engineer to join early as part of the supply chain AI transformation. You will design and deploy models that forecast demand, optimize inventory, and assess supplier risk using real-time IoT signals, with production-grade code and strong MLOps practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in applied data science or ML.
• Master's or PhD in a technical field.
• Strong Python and SQL; production ML experience.
• MLOps, real-time inference, scalable pipelines.
• Experience with ERP data, IoT signals, dashboards, cloud platforms.
• Cross-functional collaboration and adoption of data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end AI transformation roadmap for supply chain.
• Design, train, validate, and deploy ML models to production with MLOps.
• Build predictive models for demand, inventory, supplier risk, and spend.
• Create features from ERP/IoT data; build pipelines and ETL jobs.
• Deliver production-grade code for batch and real-time inference.
• Act as AI liaison to Product, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance.
• Improve data infrastructure and analytics platform for scale.
• Mentor junior scientists and lead modeling discussions.
• Governance, documentation, and data requirements; change management.
• Partner with Ops to drive adoption of AI tools and insights workflows.
• Champion Samsara's principles and long-term thinking.
