Job summary

5Blue Software is seeking a Software Engineer who uses AI as a core part of development to build, understand, and maintain complex systems. You will work on a large ecosystem of services, REST APIs, queues, and data flows, using diverse tech and libraries. You’ll quickly learn unfamiliar systems, apply AI tools, and own solutions end-to-end.

You’ll collaborate on architecture decisions and engineering improvements, with a focus on reliability and scalability in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) daily.
• Strong fundamentals: architecture, API design, data modeling, asynchronous processing, testing & debugging.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and frontend features.
• Design and implement APIs, data integrations, and business workflows.
• Work with asynchronous queues, retries, and scheduled tasks.
• Design reliable solutions across multiple services and databases.
• Leverage AI tools to navigate codebases and accelerate development.
• Own features end-to-end: analysis, implementation, testing, reviews, deployment.
